Primordial entities that transcend all known elemental powers.

Archelementals occupy a singular place among the magical beings of the universe. Unlike creatures and mages who manipulate mana — an energy present in the air or within the reserves of each species inhabiting magical worlds — their power is directly connected to ether, a more fundamental force capable of influencing the very matter from which elements are formed.

Ether and mana represent two distinct manifestations of magic. While mana functions as an energy that mages can channel, accumulate, or project, ether resembles a more primordial principle, one that is deeply tied to the substance of the elements themselves. This distinction explains why archelementals do not merely create or manipulate elemental manifestations: they operate at a more fundamental level, where matter and force converge.

Ordinary elementals are magical spirits bound to a specific element — earth, air, fire, or water. Some possess only limited awareness, while others obey natural laws or the commands of mages capable of summoning them. Archelementals, however, stand far above them in this hierarchy. Their power is not confined to a single element; instead, they can influence the balance of elemental forces themselves and generate phenomena whose scale surpasses what is normally considered natural.

This distinction also explains why magical elemental manifestations do not always behave like the ordinary elements found in the physical world. Fire produced by a mana-based entity, for example, does not necessarily obey every law governing natural fire. It may burn — or not — depending on the will, nature, or function of the force that created it.

Archelementals, by contrast, are capable of reproducing elemental phenomena exactly as they exist in nature. When they act, the forces they unleash follow the same laws that govern the elements of the world. A sphere of lightning they release may float through the air, but the moment it strikes its target, that target is struck with the full destructive force of real lightning. No mana-based magical defense can negate its consequences.

Despite their immense power, archelementals are not impersonal forces. They possess their own consciousness and will, allowing them to interact with other forms of life, observe the worlds around them, or intervene directly in their balance. Their existence therefore belongs as much to the realm of cosmic principles as to that of sentient entities.

In the universe of ISEKAI The Otherworlder’s Heir, archelementals represent the highest level of ether-based magic: entities capable of acting on a scale where the very balance of the elements themselves can be altered.

    Miyu

Protective entity bound to the Lovelace legacy

An archelemental born of the ether, this entity belonged neither to the realm of divinity nor to that of any common creature. Her nature existed at the boundary between pure thought and primordial forces, inseparable from the fragile balance governing magical macrocosms. Centuries passed without constituting a meaningful measure for her. Civilizations, for their part,…
