An adaptable species whose destiny was transformed by the arrival of the red moon.

Humans are among the most widespread races of The Great Land. Physically less powerful than many other species and originally lacking any innate magical ability, they nevertheless possess a quality that has profoundly shaped their history: a remarkable capacity for adaptation.

For many centuries, humans lived in a world largely dominated by peoples with natural magical affinities. Elves, elemental beings, and other races closely tied to mystical forces appeared naturally predisposed to influence the balance of the world. Humans, by contrast, relied primarily on ingenuity, organization, and the ability to learn.

This situation changed dramatically with the arrival of Vespera, the red moon. The cataclysm that marked Year 0 did more than alter the celestial balance of The Great Land; it also transformed the way mana interacted with certain forms of life.

From that moment onward, some humans began to manifest a new ability: the capacity to perceive and manipulate mana. At first, this development remained rare, but it gradually introduced a lasting shift in the history of the world. Humans, once excluded from magical practices, could now access forms of magic previously reserved for other peoples.

Unlike races whose connection to magic is instinctive, humans possess no natural affinity with mana. Their mastery depends largely on study, discipline, and the transmission of knowledge. This approach led to the development of academies, magical traditions, and diverse schools of thought.

This combination of curiosity, adaptability, and collective organization explains the steady expansion of human civilizations. Despite their apparent physical and magical limitations, humans have succeeded in establishing lasting kingdoms, advancing technologies, and extending their influence across vast territories.

In some regions of the world, this expansion is observed with caution by other peoples. The speed with which humans learn, adapt, and reshape their environment can inspire both admiration and concern. Their history has repeatedly demonstrated an ability to transform initial weaknesses into unexpected strengths.

Within the universe of ISEKAI The Otherworlder’s Heir, humans represent a species in constant evolution: a people once devoid of magic, whose capacity for learning and adaptation has allowed them to become one of the major forces shaping the balance of the world.
